By leveraging the agility of its internal Service Oriented Architecture, EC/EDI Ltd., was able to create and deploy the ASN solution in under one month as well as integrate the solution into the client's existing web interface. Since the application is completely web based and built with A.J.A.X. technology, the client can extend use of the application to its third party shippers nationwide without requiring those shippers to be EDI compliant.
With the new solution in place, EC/EDI's clients can track shipments to their trading partners much more efficiently and from anywhere. The solution also gives the client the ability to link purchase orders with shipments and invoices. Most importantly, the client can satisfy mandatory shipping document requirements, resulting in an increase of sales by several hundred percent.
